Varosliget Park, Budapest

Varosliget Park

Varosliget city park in Budapest is a 302 acre public park close to the city center. The main entrance is Heroes’ Square, one of Hungary’s World Heritage sites.

The park has the largest artificial ice surface in Europe and it is the center of the Hungarian bandy team. Bandy is a form of Russian Hockey. The park also has an amusement area for the kids, a municipal Grand Circus and Szechenvi medicinal baths and swimming pool to enjoy.

Stroll through the park and enjoy the municipal zoo and the botanical garden. Stop and have lunch at Gundel Restaurant in the park or bring a picnic lunch to eat under the shade of tree.

After a relaxing lunch visit the Museum of Fine Arts or the Palace of Art. There is a Transport Museum of Budapest and Vajdahunyad Castle also in the part to see and enjoy.

After spending the day in the fresh air of the park there are several hotels close by to spend the night.
