British travel-and-everything-else company Virgin listed the best underground transit systems in the world. Amazingly, London's Tube system is at number one!
Expensive, dirty and crowded
As any London visitor will in no uncertain terms let you know, London's Tube system is expensive, dirty and crowded. Obviously, the Virgin staffer who compiled this list is off his nut and needs medication. Personally, I commute *shudder* on the London Tube every day and can only wish for the cheapness of Mexico City, cleanliness of Berlin, or efficiency of Stockholm. And during the summer I dream of air conditioning! Alas, that's not to be.
Not that London's system is all bad, it's comprehensive and runs reasonably regularly. But at GBP 4 for a single ticket, cheaper on an Oyster Card, it should be much better.
