A really useful tool to minimize the price of airfare, Farecast tries to predict when you can buy the cheapest air tickets possible.
This simple meta search engine does one things, and does it well: It lets you know when to buy a ticket, by comparing the fare history, and the trends for your chosen airport. With plenty of search options, you're sure to find a great deal on airfare via Farecast.
The service only works for North American travelers at the moment, their 75 home airports are all based in the U.S.A. European travelers can of course benefit while jetting around the States! If you're waiting to find a good fare on a specific route, you can subscribe to a custom RSS feed for your trip.
Farecast was recognized as one of Web 2.0's "Best Travel Sites," one of PC World's 20 Most Innovative Products, "Best of What's New" by Popular Science, one of TIME Magazine's "50 Coolest Websites" and one of the "Best Trip Planning Tools" by Business Week readers.
It's a great site, and combined with searching the other air travel consolidators, you're guaranteed to find the best price for your trip.
