Edinburgh Castle, Scotland

The Edinburgh Castle

A trip to Scotland would not be complete unless you spend some time at Edinburgh Castle. It is one of the most picturesque castles there is anywhere in the world. The Scottish castle is situated on the top of a huge noel 100 feet high. You will be delighted and amazed by their costumed performers dressed in colorful Victorian garb. Edinburgh touts one of the most exciting fireworks displays that can be seen anywhere. The castle also has some of the most wonderful exhibits and is a great place for the kids as well.

The castle Din Eldyn was captured in 638 by the Angles and was re-named Edinburgh at that time. The rich history of the Edinburgh Castle is worth the trip all by itself but to view the huge cannons inside the castle and look thru the large rectangle holes they used to shoot from is really great. The view from the castle overlooks the entire plush green landscape below. It will truly be the single best day that you could spend anywhere in Scotland.
