This fun and unusual grave marker is located in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. This monument is an imitation of an Atlas rocket, and it is a must-see for any space buffs. Technically, it marks the grave of Carl Morgan Bigsby, but no one seems to know why his tombstone is a rocket, because he apparently had nothing to do with the space program! The marker itself is over 20 feet tall and has information about Atlas missiles.
Nearby graves include those of Johnny Ramone, guitarist for The Ramones, Jayne Mansfield, and many other Los Angeles movers and shakers. Visiting the cemetery will be a fun way to see the final resting places of those you may have seen on the big screen or heard about in the movie mags. Bring a camera and some good walking shoes!
